Many of my clients ask if I help stage a home prior to listing. The answer is ‘Yes’ but bad staging is worse sometimes than no staging at all.
I work with homeowners to ensure placement of furniture, art, rugs and general improvements help sell their home quickly. Sometimes most of the items already come from the sellers it is more a matter of decluttering, painting and general tidying up and furniture placement.
Where staging is more extensive I work with professional stagers to rent furniture, art and other necessary items.
Here, however are some helpful tips to doing it right.
I must stress, however, that staging has become the buzz word for agents trying to get listings. Staging is important but extensive marketing, negotiations and hard work is paramount in not only getting an offer but having the house close.
